The joint venture allows KEL to provide environmental services in the Kitikmeot Region of Nunavut, including spill response, environmental drilling and sampling, and site remediation services. Our signature project was the construction of a licenced soil remediation facility in Cambridge Bay, NU in 2017. The first of it’s kind in the Kitikmeot, the facility is able to receive and treat petroleum hydrocarbon contaminated soil providing a local solution to addressing both historical and recent spill incidents. Once the soil is treated to meet regulatory criteria, it becomes a resource for use at the community landfill as daily cover material. KEL is committed to ensuring that we provide reliable and efficient environmental services to the people and businesses of the Kitikmeot.
